** EVER THOUGHT OF JOINING A SYNDICATE TO OWN AN EVENT HORSE? **
Another exciting way to be personally involved in Eventing, and Owning a horse is to buy a share of a syndicate. Syndicates are made up of between 2-5 like minded people, who want to enjoy owning a horse at a fraction of the cost.
What are the benefits of a syndicate?
> A great way to be personally involved > Enjoy the same benefits at a fraction of the cost > Make your own name up for the syndicate > Enjoy some of the great social events of the year, and meet new friends.
I am currently looking for interested parties to form a syndicate for a very talented horse I would like to keep in the yard. For more info on this please contact me via the contact page.
EHOA Rider Award Winner. Nomination Letter written by Nicky Dickson;
Although our horse is only a 4 year old I felt we had to nominate her rider Emilie Chandler for this award as she encompasses everything you describe in your considerations for the prize –, cheerful, hard working, great communicator, a fabulous producer of horses and fun to be with! Choosing a rider for our first homebred baby was a big decision but from the moment we met Emilie and visited her yard we knew that “Millie” would be well looked after and become part of the family. That is what we have become too. Right from the word go we have been kept up to date with every step of her training whether this is a text message to say “jumped a filler today” or a phone call with a laughing Emilie saying “she’s scared of turkeys, what are we going to do?!” (the yard is on a turkey farm!) we have felt completely involved. Despite our shows being just Burghley Young Event Horse qualifiers, unaffiliated or British Novice jumping and the 4yo PAVO classes we have felt as special as those owners of the more experienced horses. We have also known that our mare has been fully prepared before each outing giving her the best chance. The time and dedication this takes shows how seriously Emilie takes her job for example going out jumping ditches every on a spooky 4 year old can not be a lot of fun in the wettest summer on record, but the clear round XC that followed shows it was worth it. The yard, which Emilie has recently built and set up herself, has an open door policy. Whenever we pass we know we are welcome to pop in to say hello and there is always time for a cup of tea and a chat. The staff on the yard are equally helpful and really do treat the horses as their own, spoiling them as much as we do and working to their every need. Any plans that we or Emilie have are always fully discussed and Emilie is willing to fit round any thoughts we have as well as explaining and reasoning her own. At shows not only have we been able to watch our beautifully turned out horse all grown up and working so well but have also been entertained with excellent hospitality too. And, to give us a taste of what could be to come, whenever Emilie has been competing at bigger events or those local to us on her other horses, there has always been an invitation to join them and to meet the other owners in the team. Overall being owners for the last year has been a great experience and one that we cannot wait to continue. The feeling that Emilie loves our horse as much as we do is something that you don’t find on every yard. The fact that she is also honest and realistic about the mare too is also reassuring as nothing can be perfect despite what others may say. There have been ups and downs, but a lot of laughs and we have enjoyed every minute. This makes us feel that coming to the end of a successful season, Emilie and the yard deserve the recognition a rider award will bring them and nominating them is our way of saying thankyou.
